Subscription & FAQ
Find troubleshooting steps by account, connection, route, and billing topic. First identify where the issue occurs, then follow the relevant checks instead of changing several settings at once.
Account / Subscription
Accounts & subscriptions
From account creation and activation to client import, first confirm that the account is active and the subscription has updated. When changing devices, continue using the same account.
Do I need an email address to create an account?
No email address is required; a username and password are enough. Choose a recognizable username that is not reused on other websites, and store your password securely. Your account gives you access to the user panel, plans, subscriptions, and support tickets. If you forget your credentials, stop repeated login attempts and explain the situation through the support option in the user panel.
How do I use my subscription after creating an account?
Open the user panel, choose a plan, then download the client for your platform from the Downloads area. Copy the subscription provided by CacaVPN from the account overview and import it into the client. After importing, update the route list, choose a region suited to your needs, and connect. Finally, open the website or app you need and verify that your exit location has changed.
How do I update my subscription link?
Open the client’s subscription management page and update or refresh the imported CacaVPN subscription. If the update fails, first confirm that your plan is still active, then check whether your local network can reach the user panel. If there is still no result, copy the subscription again from the account overview and replace the old entry. Subscription details are account information and should not be shared publicly.
Do I need to buy another plan when I switch devices?
No separate purchase is needed when changing devices. CacaVPN supports unlimited devices. Sign in to the same account on the new device, download the appropriate client from the user panel, and import the subscription again. If the old device is no longer in use, delete any saved subscription details there. When troubleshooting connections, avoid leaving multiple unused devices running unnecessary background updates.
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux are supported. Marketing pages do not provide direct links to static installers; download the client from the Downloads area in the user panel. Before installing, select the platform that matches your device, then import the subscription from your account. Follow the client’s instructions for system permissions; otherwise, the client may show as connected while app traffic does not use the route.
Connection / Fault
Connections & troubleshooting
Change one condition at a time during troubleshooting and record the result before and after. This helps identify whether the cause is the local network, client settings, route, or target app.
What should I check first if the client cannot connect at all?
First confirm that your local network can open ordinary websites. Then update the subscription in the client and try another route in the same region. Check the system clock, proxy permissions, and client status, and reopen the client if necessary. If no route connects, compare the result on another local network. When submitting a ticket, include the platform, route name, error message, and troubleshooting steps already taken.
What should I do if it says connected but websites will not open?
First determine whether the route connection and traffic forwarding are both working. Disconnect and reconnect, then try another route in the same region. Check whether the browser has its own proxy settings and whether another network tool is also handling traffic. If only certain domains fail while other services work, restart both the client and browser so the system can rebuild its network and DNS state.
Why does only one app fail to use the proxy?
Check whether the app is set to direct connection by the client’s routing rules or uses a connection method that the current proxy mode does not handle. Temporarily switch to global proxy mode for comparison. If the app works afterward, the routing rules are the likely cause. If nothing changes, check the app’s network permissions, system proxy permissions, and background restrictions. Restore the mode suited to everyday use once the cause is clear.
Why does my mobile connection often drop when the app goes into the background?
Check whether the system restricts the client from running in the background, and allow the network activity it needs. Battery-saving settings, background freezing, and automatic system cleanup can pause the connection. After adjusting them, reconnect and test by locking the screen or switching apps. If the issue began after a system update, review the network permissions again. If interruptions continue, include the system version and reproduction steps in a support ticket.
Speed / Route
Speed & routes
Route performance depends on the local network, the target service’s region, the chosen exit, and the usage scenario. Compare routes in the same region first, then decide whether to try a nearby region.
What order should I use when choosing a route?
Choose based first on the region where the target service is available, rather than relying only on the route name. For ordinary websites, start with a geographically closer region. For services with regional content differences, choose an exit region matching the target content. After connecting, test page loading, sign-in, and continued use separately. If performance is unstable, switch to another route in the same region instead of jumping between regions repeatedly.
How should I troubleshoot a sudden drop in connection speed?
Stop large file transfers and background syncing first to make sure your local bandwidth is not being used. Then switch to another route in the same region and test ordinary websites and the target app separately. If every route is slow, disconnect CacaVPN and test the local network for comparison. Wi-Fi signal strength, router load, and changes in the carrier network can also affect results, so do not judge an entire route from a single test.
What should I do about lag during peak hours?
Switch to another route in the same region first, rather than repeatedly reconnecting to the same entry point. If video or downloads are using a high bitrate, lower the app’s quality or pause other transfers to determine whether the bottleneck is local or on the international route. Then try a nearby region and record the time, platform, target service, and route name so support can narrow down the issue.
Which type of route should I use when an AI tool will not open?
Choose a region where the target AI service is available, and avoid changing exit locations repeatedly during sign-in. If the page opens but sign-in or the session fails, clear the site’s old session and return using the same route. If only one AI service is affected while other websites work, first try another route in the same region and check that service’s account and regional requirements instead of reinstalling the entire client.
What should I do when streaming opens but playback is unstable?
Confirm that the exit region matches the content region, then switch to another route in the same region. Once playback starts, keep the exit location stable where possible, since changing routes can trigger region detection again or interrupt the existing session. If low quality works but high-bitrate playback keeps buffering, also check local network usage. If the homepage opens but content will not play, record the platform, content region, and route name before submitting a ticket.
Billing / Refund
Billing & refunds
Monthly subscriptions and data packages use different traffic rules. Before activation, confirm the cycle, allowance, and payment method. Handle order issues through the user panel.
What monthly subscription tiers are available?
Monthly plans are: ¥9.9/month with 60GB, ¥18/month with 250GB, and ¥28/month with 500GB. Traffic resets monthly on the activation date. Choose based on your usual video, file-transfer, and multi-device usage rather than a single peak. Confirm the plan details, traffic allowance, and billing cycle in the user panel and plan page before activation.
Does a data package reset every month?
Data packages remain available until used and never expire. The tiers are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They follow a different usage model from monthly subscriptions, which reset on the activation date, and suit usage that varies over time. Before choosing, confirm on the plan page whether you are selecting a monthly subscription or a data package.
How is a mid-cycle monthly plan upgrade calculated?
For a mid-cycle monthly upgrade, the price difference is prorated against the remaining days. Before upgrading, review the current plan, remaining status, and target tier, then confirm your new traffic needs. If the issue is only a temporary speed change, troubleshoot the local network and route first rather than upgrading. Upgrades are mainly intended for cases where the current traffic tier no longer fits actual usage.
Which payment methods are supported?
Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT are supported. Start the order process from the Plans area in the user panel and use the payment option shown on the order page. Do not pay through payment details forwarded by someone else. If the order status does not update after payment, keep the order status and payment record, then submit a ticket in the user panel instead of repeatedly acting on the same order.
How do I request a refund?
CacaVPN offers a 60-day, no-questions-asked refund. Sign in to the user panel and submit a ticket explaining the order to be handled and your refund request. Keep the order status and payment record available for verification. Do not create duplicate tickets with the same content. Refund scope and handling are governed by the Terms of Service; review the refund provisions before applying.
Still unresolved
Still need help?
Prepare the device platform, client status, route name, target app, error message, and reproduction steps, then submit a ticket through the user panel. Complete information makes it easier to distinguish account, configuration, local network, and route issues.
